About Us

I’ve always been passionate about travel, food and exploration, but no matter how old, at almost every stage in my life I've found myself having to do it alone... It never stopped me, but there were times when I felt it lessened my experiences. I've had so many amazing adventures and visited incredible countries from the luscious landscapes of Northern Thailand, to remote islands in the Phillipines and bustling markets in Morocco. I learnt about local history, culture and customs, tasted amazing local delicacies (and some not so amazing), climbed mountains and swam oceans, but at the end of each day when i returned to my hotel room who was there to share the excitement and stories of the day with?

I tried using some of the well known tour operators, but found i was always surrounded with the 18 year old me; fresh out of school on a minimum budget. Happy sleeping (or at least trying to sleep) in a hostel bunk bed and surviving on 2 minute noodles. Which was fun then, but now, as I get a little older and wiser (maybe) I have different expectations when it comes to travel and I'm not willing to compromise comfort.

With that in mind, when COVID hit and i was fantasising about where i would go when the world reopened, I felt yet again limited by a lack of friends able to switch on that out of office and ditch their home responsibilities to go travel.

The more I studied the travel space and searched for tour groups of like-minded, similar-age individuals the more disheartened i became. It’s here where Poshpacker was born. Put simply, it’s a passion to explore the world, meet new people and make long lasting connections.
